About Seiyu Seiyu Hisayo was born and raised in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. When she was 6 years old, she was taught gShodoh (Japanese Calligraphy) by her mother and uncle. In 1976, she earned her degrees in Education from University of Tokushima, Japan. After getting married, she moved to Nagoya, Japan. In 2001, she got the highest level instructor certificate out of 4 levels in a Shodo proficiency examination and became a master of Shodo. Seiyu now teaches Shodo classes for children and adults. She also has been taking a Shodo class at Aichi-Gakuin University. She is now studying "Tenkoku" (Seal Engraving) under Mr. Su To of gSeirei Inshah. Seiyu is interested in Japanese history, especially the era when Japanese own characters (Hiragana and Katakana) were born.
